Barça Women 6-1 Granadilla Tenerife: No break
A victory for Barca women at Estadi Johan Cruyff after Granadilla Tenerife took the lead in their league game in Barcelona. Nevertheless, a brace from Jenni Hermoso and a goal from Alexia changed things in the first half, then after the break a goal from Martens and two from Bruna brought the final score 6-1 to the Blaugranes.
Granadilla Tenerife takes the lead
The Blaugranes had the first chance of the game with Graham Hansen testing Tenerife goalkeeper Aline. In the visitors’ first notable attack, they took the lead with Pisco scoring just eight minutes away.
The lead, however, lasted just five minutes with Jenni Hermoso leveling things off at 13 minutes. An excellent save from Sandra Paños prevented the opposing team from regaining the lead before Hermoso struck again to give Barca the advantage. A penalty from Alexia just before the half hour made him 3-1 at halftime.
In the second half Alexia’s shot returned to the post and Martens reacted first to stretch the home side’s lead in the 71st minute. Coach Cortés made changes and one of the upcoming players had an almost immediate effect. Second-half sub Bruna scores twice in six minutes to seal an imposing victory ahead of Sunday’s trip to France to face PSG in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.
