Madeira still relevant, say AE2021 organizers – Fish Farmer Magazine
The organizers of Aquaculture Europe 2021 (AE2021) are confident that the event can take place as an in-person conference in Madeira in October.
An annual event, Aquaculture Europe brings together leading academics, companies and organizations from the sector. AE2021 is due to take place in Madeira from October 4-7 this year. While there had been concerns about the continued threat of the Covid-19 pandemic, the regional government of Madeira announced that events may be authorized, with a capacity of 50%. On this basis, said the organizers of AE2121, there is good reason to believe that the conference can proceed as planned.
The organizers said: “Having also submitted a formal request to the Madeira health authority, we strongly believe that whatever the final format and capacity, the event can take place in Funchal.”
The abstract submission deadline for the AE2021 presentation has been extended to May 15 (for abstracts uploaded but not presented orally, the deadline is August 28.
AE2021 will be held under the theme “Oceans of Opportunity” and early registration will close on July 15th. Find out more here.
AE2020, which was scheduled to take place in Cork, Ireland last year, has been postponed to 2021, but due to the pandemic it took place earlier this month as an online-only event.
